Just before the Nationals

One day before the Nationals.

I rode the course last night, and liked it. Very off-camber (something I’m ridiculously afraid of), fast, mostly singletrack with the majority of climbs done offroad, fast and swoopy. Requiring thinking and skilled bike handling and not only pure hammering down the hill, and I like that too.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

The first three spots are most likely going to be taken by Mel Spath, Ciara McManus and Claire Oakley, but for the fourth one there may be a battle between Orla McClean, Rose Griffin, Jaqui Howard and myself.

The weather surprised us two days ago and for a change there’s sun and blue sky and it’s more than 10 degrees. It feels a bit weird after the months of wet and cold summer we were having till now. And together with the sun, a new dose of optimism and energy and will to cycle emerged. It feels good.
We’ll see how it’ll feel tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it.
